The Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org) is an organization committed to broad environmental conservation and protection. Spanning over 30 countries, this charity works with a multitude of projects to combat issues like climate change and habitat degradation. "Charcoal Ceiling" is a celebration of the natural world. Juxtaposing images of a physically beautiful world and a "lost" world of imbalance. The instrumental ending represents two possible futures, one of radical change but eventual success, and one of severe environmental consequences. I chose the Nature Conservancy because it represents a means to protect the beauty this song attempts to represent.
